By using Wayfinder, you agree to these terms.

1. What Wayfinder is

Wayfinder is a college admissions advisory service that uses AI to help students and families navigate the college search, application, and decision process. We are not a guidance counselor, financial advisor, or attorney. Information we provide is for educational purposes and does not guarantee admission or financial outcomes.

2. Account eligibility

You must be 13 or older to use Wayfinder. If you are between 13 and 17, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission. Parents are responsible for monitoring their child's use of the service.

3. Account responsibilities

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• One account per person. No sharing.
• Provide accurate information at signup.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Use Wayfinder to harass, defame, or impersonate others.
• Submit content that is illegal, infringing, or abusive.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
• Use Wayfinder to violate any law or third-party rights.
• Submit other people's essays or work as your own without permission.

5. Subscription tiers

• Free: Limited usage (5 chat msgs / month, 1 FRQ scoring lifetime trial). No payment required.
• Coach: Unlimited chat, 5 FRQ scorings + 10 Tutor sessions / month. Monthly subscription.
• Consultant: Unlimited everything. Monthly subscription. Priority support.

Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. No refunds for partial months unless required by law.

6. AI-generated advice — important disclaimers

Wayfinder uses AI to generate personalized advice. AI can make mistakes. Always:

• Verify deadlines and requirements directly with the college admissions office.
• Consult a licensed college counselor or advisor for major decisions.
• Consult a financial advisor for financial aid strategy.
• Treat essay feedback as one of many opinions — get human review too.

We are not liable for admissions outcomes, financial decisions, or essay grades.

7. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of essays, FRQ responses, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process and store this content to provide the service. We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the AI advisor (with your consent at signup).

8. Termination

You can delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We will give reasonable notice except in cases of abuse or legal risk.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Wayfinder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, accuracy of AI advice, or specific outcomes.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of Wayfinder is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in King County, Washington.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app notice 30 days before taking effect.
